The Bible is our all-sufficient rule for faith and practice

Vision & Focus

To see souls saved, lives changed, and families restored by experiencing God through Jesus Christ.

Colossians 2:6-7 (NKJV) As you have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.

BRIEF HISTORY

Perry Hall Family Worship Center celebrated its first Sunday Service on July 15, 2001. PHFWC is affiliated with Dove Christian Fellowship International [dcfi.org]. PHFWC started as a home church in the garage of Pastor Dom & his wife Lisa. As winter approached, services were relocated to the newly finished (for the church) basement of their home. Little did anyone know, PHFWC would be there for nine years! As the church grew, it was time to find a new home. Construction began in Summer of 2009 at our new location, 5125 E Joppa Road in Perry Hall. PHFWC celebrated their first service at the new location on September 26th, 2010.

Beliefs

The Bible

The Bible is God’s message to all people of all times. It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. Because it is inspired by God, it is truth without error. It is the greatest source of truth.

2 Timothy 3:16 , Proverbs 30:5 , John 5:39

Salvation & Forgiveness

The Bible says that all people are sinners, and sin separates us from God. The blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the only way of salvation, through the forgiveness of sin. Salvation happens when people put their faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ as sufficient payment for their sin. Salvation is a gift from God, and it cannot be earned through self-improvement or good works.

Isaiah 1:18 , Romans 6:23-25 , Ephesians 2:8-9

Trinity

God has existed for all eternity. The Trinity is God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit - three in one.

1 Corinthians 8:6 , Mark 1:9-11 , John 14:16

God the Father

God the Father is great, all powerful, all knowing, ever present, unchanging, completely worthy of our trust, and above all, holy. It is in Him that we live, move and exist. He is our Father. He is loving, compassionate, and faithful to His children and His promises.

Leviticus 11:44-45 , Psalm 11:4-6 , John 3:16

God The Son

Jesus Christ is the Son of God; born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless, human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for our sins by dying on the cross. He walked, taught and performed miracles. To demonstrate His power over sin and death, He rose from the dead after three days. He ascended to Heaven and will return again someday to earth to reign as King.

Isaiah 7:14 , Matthew 1:18-23 , Galatians 4:4-5 , Acts 2:22-24

God the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit’s presence assures us of our relationship with the Lord. He comforts us, gives us spiritual gifts, and makes us more like Christ.

Genesis 1:2 , Isaiah 61:1-3 , John 15:26

Eternity

Man was created for eternity. He will either reside eternally separated from God by sin in Hell; or with God through forgiveness and salvation in Heaven.

Romans 6:23 , 1 John 5:11-13 , John 3:16

Baptism

Baptism, full immersion into water, is simply a public declaration that the Lord has changed one’s life. Baptism does not save a person; it is an outward expression of an inward change.

Romans 6:4 , Matthew 3:16-17 , Matthew 28:19-20

The Church

The Church is much more than a meeting place. It is the community of believers unified through faith in Christ. It is committed to the teachings of Christ and living a life of faith and surrender to Him. The Church seeks to bring the Gospel to the world. The Church works together in love and unity to point others to Christ and to glorify and honor Him.

Matthew 16:18-19 , Colossians 1:18 , Ephesians 2:19-22

The Great Commission

The Great Commission is the Lord’s command to take the gospel to every person. It is our responsibility to share the love of Jesus Christ with the world.

Matthew 28:16-20 , Acts 1:8 , Mark 16:15

Communion

Communion is a way believers can participate in remembering the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. The elements are symbols of Christ’s broken body and shed blood.

Matthew 26:26-30 , Mark 14:22-26 , 1 Corinthians 11:23-26

Worship

Worship is not just a part of Sunday morning service. Although praise, songs and instruments are good things, it is not all of worship. Worship is an active lifestyle of offering one’s life as a living sacrifice to Christ.

Psalm 150:6 , Romans12:1-2 , 1 Chronicles 16:23-31
